Panic DisorderPanic disorder (PD) occurs in up to 25% of ED patients with chest pain. The quality of pain is often indistinguishable from ischemic pain. Since patients with PD often have coexistent CAD, a diagnosis of panic disorder is infrequently made in the ED. Many patients with panic disorder have coexisting symptoms of depression, including suicidal ideation (10%).Causes
