Natural Home Remedies For Bruises
- Slice a raw onion & place over the bruise. Do not apply this to broken skin.
- Take Vitamin C to prevent bruising by thickening the walls of blood vessels.
- Make a tea with confrey root or buchu soak a rag in the tea and apply to bruised area, this has been shown to reduce pain and discoloration of the skin.
- Adding herbs and essential oils to compresses adds anti-inflammatory power and helps reduce bruising.
- Vitamin K cream applied topically will heal most bruises within 48 to 72 hours by causing the blood seepage in the affected area to clot. Food sources for Vitamin K include green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, green cabbage, kale, Swiss chard, turnip greens, broccoli, tomatoes, liver and lean meats.
